Standard BWF Match Format
Each match is played in a best-of-three sets format. The first player to reach 21 points wins a set (by a margin of at least 2 points). If the score reaches 29–29, the next point decides the set winner (30–29).
Mid-Set Break
When either player reaches 11 points in a set, there is a 60-second break. Between sets, players get a 2-minute rest. In the third set (if required), players switch sides once either player reaches 11 points.
